Riding A New Wave

I just completed a thirty minute online instruction on getting a domain name and website. I'm feeling like a wave just broke into the calm wake where I was treading water.  Just when I think I'm starting to get a handle on social media and blogging I find out a website is considered as necessary as contact information as telephone numbers were in the business world when that technology emerged. Communication has certainly made tremendous strides in under fifty years. I remember when first class postage was 3cents and now snail mail is becoming more and more irrelevant. I'm just going to have to swim harder to keep up in this river.  For now though, good night...have an early morning ahead.   Blessings

Treading Water

Well, I jumped in and haven't sunk like a stone.  The past week hasn't been floating down the lazy river. I've been keeping my head above water in a rushing river of information on writing in general and specifically, writing a successful blog . My hope is to make this blog worthy of  the reader's time investment, otherwise I might as well rant on the back of the junk mail to get things off my chest. At least that would recycle paper.

Professional advice differs on the frequency of posting. The most convincing argument I had read before beginning this blog was once a week.  That was good at the time since I wasn't sure about getting started, but was convinced I should surely be able to post once a week.  Since that time the consensus in what I have read seems to be posting about three times a week. One bit of advice in common, regardless of  the position on frequency, was post something worthy of reading.

There's no telling what you'll find here a funny, an encouraging word, a bit of timely information, a prayer, an opinion (I'll try not to shout from a soapbox), helpful hints or the thought where the roulette ball lands on the wheel of my spinning mind.

Jumped right in

OK , I've done it, jumped in and started a blog.  Not at all sure what in the world I'm doing but I decided if I waited until I knew all the ins and outs I might never have a blog.
This should be entertaining if nothing else.  If you get a laugh at my expense as I bungle my way through this be sure to make it a good hearty one, it's good for you.
You have no way of knowing what to expect here since I'm not sure what I may have to say. My blog name says it all, "musings".  There's no end to the directions my thoughts take, they're quite unpredictable.
This is like an about face for me since my favorite method for recording my thoughts has always been pencil/pen to paper. That is somehow more sensually gratifying than tapping a keyboard. I will concede to the efficiency of using a computer and since "my momma didn't raise no dummies" I'll take advantage of  technology. 
I'm still trying to figure out customizing the appearance of my page. It may resemble a crazy quilt at times which might be appropriate for random thoughts. The parchment background and font are my attempt to stay in touch with my pen and paper and are two choices that were totally intentional.
For now I must close and get intentional about preparing our supper.  Blessings to all
